general safety & responsibility for all

Wee Hoose Glamping is set on 17 acres of a working croft and the grounds are not a manicured Glamping site with paved paths. The ground is uneven and behind the pods are rolling fields, then a slope up onto higher ground. Please make sure that you wear suitable footwear - a good pair of wellies or sensible walking shoes that can easy be taken off entering your pod to stop mud from coming in the pods. Each Pod has a carbon monoxide detector. The whole site is no smoking but we are happy for you to smoke in the car park near the road. Crofts can be a dangerous place but there is no farm equipment on the Glamping site. There will be farm animals from sheep, lambs and horses, please remember that animals can bite, please wash your hands after touching the animals. There are barbed wire fences around two separates fields, please be careful as the spikes can hurt or tear clothing. There is an old dry stone wall which runs down one side of the field, this is not ours but belongs to our neighbour. It is dangerous so do not climb on this wall as if you get hurt there is nothing we can do as our insurance does not cover what is not our property. The flying of drones around the pods and on our land and our 50 hectares of free grazing at top of our land is not permitted. You must not charge an electric vehicle from the pods as the pods' power supply is not designed for this. The nearest charging point is nine miles away at Betty Hill. We take every care to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable holiday, but cannot be held liable for any accidents or consequential loss or damage to our guest’s possessions on our property or land. In regards to noise, be considerate neighbours to each other and to the wildlife. Our site is in a rural area and it is important that you and your party do not interrupt or endanger the livelihood of those working at the property or on the surrounding land.

We have bats and other wildlife which bring great joy while watching them feast, we also have a barn owl who can often be seen and heard. Any disturbance caused by wildlife should be reported to us immediately and reasonable steps will then be taken to assist. Please remember that bats are a protected species and it is illegal to interfere with them or their habitat.

To help us keep the valley of Strathnaver tranquil and so as not to disturb the wildlife or other guests, we do not allow any music or radios outside the pods as noise is amplified as it travels up the valley. we also ask you to be conscious of how much noise your party are making around the camp fires at night. After 11pm the only sound that should be generally audible in the field is hooting owls and  other wild life and maybe the low murmuring of our guests enjoying the sunset and some tranquil star gazing. Remember if you make too much noise the red deer will not come down to feed around the pods. stay safe and stay out of danger!

use of car park & caravan

Wee Hoose Glamping Ltd cannot accept any liability for theft, loss or damage to your vehicle/cycle/motorbike whatever the nature, during or as a result of your stay. The misuse of the car park will result in you being asked to leave the site without any refund. We provide a caravan for you to hang wet clothing in but we cannot accept any liability for theft, loss or damage to your clothing, only you and the other guests will have keys to the caravan.

logs, sticks & camp fire wood

We provide logs and waste wood for the campfire fire pit!

Please feel free to collect fallen twigs and sticks from below the trees for the fire pit, or why not have a go at toasting marshmallows which can be bought in the shop! The BBQ works best with charcoal which can also be purchased from our onsite shop.

dogs

We are a working croft with our own dog. All pods are dog friendly but please keep your dogs of the bed. When walking your dog please keep them on a lead and away from sheep and lambs and be extra vigilant, as even a small dog has been known to kill a pregnant ewe. Remember you are in the Highlands and under Scottish law, if a crofter feels a dog is worrying there sheep they have the right to shoot the dog in question. Please pick up dog mess and put it in the land fill bins. Please don’t leave the dogs alone in the pods during the day, as it can be very stressful for them and they could cause damage which you would then be liable for.

breakages & damage

Please leave the accommodation tidy and let us know if anything gets broken, so we can replace it for our next guest. We will only charge for replacement in exceptional circumstances, as we expect a degree of wear and tear. If damage is directly attributable to the guest, then we reserve the right to request payment up to £150 from the guest of damage to the pod, contents or the site.  You will find a list of equipment in the kitchen cupboard for your pod, if you discover that anything is missing or damaged upon arrival at your pod you must notify us immediately at the site office or by calling 07403620488. If you do not notify us we will assume that you caused the relevant damage or loss. You will be responsible for the cost of any damage to the pod or its contents caused by you or by any member of your party or animal brought with you.

liability

Wee Hoose Glamping Ltd accept no liability for:

  • Theft, loss or damage, of whatever nature, during or as a result of a stay.

  • Falling into defect or putting out of action of technical equipment and loss or closure of supplies on the croft.

  • The guest and those who accompany him or her, are jointly and severally responsible for all loss and/or damage which arises for Wee Hoose Glamping Ltd in question and/or any third party as a direct or an indirect consequence of their stay, irrespective of whether this was caused through actions or refraining from actions by themselves or by third parties, who are at the croft through their making, as well as of all damage which is caused by any animal and/or matter which they have under their responsibility.

  • If you leave your Pod in an improper condition, Wee Hoose Glamping Ltd is entitled to charge an extra fee of 30GBP of additional (cleaning) costs.

  • Dishes should be washed, bed linen stripped and collected, floor swept, and bin emptied with rubbish put into a waste bag and placed in a bin.

Whilst we at Wee Hoose Glamping Ltd take great care to keep you safe, accidents can happen and neither we nor the croft are responsible for such accidents (to the greatest extent permitted by law). It is your responsibility to supervise your guests. If you notice that any equipment looks faulty and/or unsafe you must inform us as soon as possible. We strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance against the risk of accidents and your stay being cut short.

If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is foreseeable as a result of our breach of these terms and conditions or our negligence, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is an obvious consequence of our breach or if it was contemplated by you and us at the time we entered into this contract.
